dive sites
The main scuba diving areas around Pattaya
are located in the "Far Islands", a second ring
of islands about 20-30 kilometers from Pattaya. The islands
are controlled by The Navy, with no permanent structures there
and minimal boat traffic. These islands include Koh Kin, Koh
Man Wichai, Koh Keung, Koh Hu Chang and Koh Phi. Altogether
we have 20 different dive sites with visibility ranging from
5 - 15 meters.
There are many different types of soft and
hard corals, and large schools of Jacks, Barracuda and Tuna.
Blue spotted Stingrays, Porcupine Pufferfish and Moray Eels
can be spotted on virtually every dive. The Samae San/Sattahip
area has similar diving conditions, with the added attraction
of two large intact shipwrecks. The Petchburi Bremen is an
old freighter sunk in 21 meters of water in the Khram Channel
(Sattahip). It's home to many Grouper and Barracuda. The Hardeep
is a 60 meters long cargo ship sunk after World War II. This
ship is completely intact, and can be navigated from bow to
stern entirely inside!!
Let our experienced guides show you how good diving can be
only 2 hours from Bangkok!
Coral Diving
Coral dives around Pattaya are surprisingly
good. The somewhat limited visibility is more than compensated
for by the huge variety of marine life and abundant coral
formations. Our trips include two dives, lunch and a qualified
PADI Divemaster or Instructor to supervise the trip.
Wreck Diving
The highlight of Pattaya diving is the two superb shipwrecks,
The Bremen and The Hardeep. These steel cargo ships are intact,
and can be penetrated by divers with proper training
Overnight Trips
Overnight trips to the Samae San area conducted on a regular
basis, featuring diving at the Hardeep Wreck, Shark Fin Rock
and Shark Islands. The trip includes 7 dives, all meals, drinks,
and an evening Bar-B-Q. Longer trips, as well as trips to
Hin Alhambra (Chantaburi) and Koh Chang (Trat), are scheduled
for holiday weekends. Vietnam and Cambodia tours are also
available.
The Vertical Wreck or Koho Maru #5
This is a 60 meter gas tanker standing vertically upright
from a depth of 60 meters to within 5 meters of the surface.
It is perfect for beginners and advanced technical divers!
The visibility is over 30 meters, and there are large schools
of Jack, Tuna, and Great Barracuda surrounding the Wreck.
Penetration is possible for qualified technical divers at
50+ meters depth - Just watch out for the four Giant Grouper
patrolling the area.
Nitrox and rebreather dives are available for qualified divers!
